I have a cop car with dual exhaust.
Just show up. Even if you dont bring a car, just come down and hang out. Its a great experience.
I've actually been, twice. It was good times. A lot of it comes down to motivation.
I just wanted to stop by and give a huge shoutout to our photographer, Dave Green, for working with us to do two awesome new things this year:
First, he's uploading every single photo he takes to his website: https://flagtoflagphoto.smugmug.com/32925-GRASSROOTS-MOTORSPORTS-MAGAZINE-2000-CHALLENGE
And second, he's created a coupon code so your first photo is just $1. (That's a $14 discount). The code is GRM2K

That one needed quite a few takes. First thought was it looked pretty serious. Second - "Hey, wait a minute, if that's real, how do you open the hood?" Third - "Er, wait, those aren't turbos at all... what ARE those?!?"
In reply to MadScientistMatt :
It was funny watching one of the college teams do a double take when the car pulled up to the staging lanes for the drags-Wait....where are the turbos? What? They weren't real??????
Very fun day today and great seeing everyone.
Just got back to the hotel. Getting camera gear ready for tomorrow so we can do it all again.
10.2 drag pass in a 2001 Mustang budget car!!!
Next best drag pass is an over budget 2021 Mustang GT 500
In reply to rdcyclist :
Car is not done. Owner has been wanting to come to the Challenge for 15 years or so, finally said "I'm gonna go no matter what." And then he and his brother loaded up and came down.
He calls it "Snowball" cause as it keeps goin the list keeps gettin bigger.
From left to right:

I feel the same way.
When I do make it, which goddammit has to be berkeleying soon, it'll probably be in my Caprice with basic upgraded stuff. I'll probably finish nowhere near the top either
Update from the FIRM!
My car goes into limp mode after 5 laps. Great.
Robbie FIAT seems to have a fueling issue again.
One of the cars oiled down the track and puffed a bit of fire. Nothing serious. Everyone is okay.
Kip's BRZ is absolutely amazing to drive.
I don't think I have ever driven any car that turns in so well. It's almost too much.
Went 3 seconds faster in Kips car than mine.
My car
Much like myself
kinda going through some stuff and working on its myriad issues? Really had lots of fun hanging out with you all.

I'm glad you came to the trackday as well. I believe you turned some laps, but I was on track and unsure if it was you or someone else driving.
Cool car. Excellent wheels and stance!
