Cause ending a phrase in "-ne" denotes a rhetorical question in Japanese? Get it?
Well if you don't, here's some preview stuff

If they'd never put any camo on it at all, it would've been much harder to figure out that it wasn't an ordinary ND with some body damage or mods in progress.
Timeline makes sense. The ND test mules were seen wearing NC bodywork around 2013, then the ND was released 2015 for the 2016 model year. If NE (or NG?) is released in 2024 for 2025 model year, that would make almost 10 years of ND, similar to the NC's run. Mazda confirmed last year that the next-gen Miata will be electrified in some way. Most speculate a mild hybrid of sorts, like a flywheel motor or belt-alternator-starter system. I'm excited and optimistic that Mazda will do it justice no matter the powertrain, but I am happy to own what I believe is the final iteration of ICE/manual Miata.
I'm experiencing old guy time dilation right now. I feel like the ND was just released 3 years ago. It is strange, I see way more NA and NBs than NDs, at least in my neck of the woods.
No kidding. I realized yesterday that we'd had one of our development NDs for over 7 years, and the other wasn't too far behind.
Mazda is notoriously tight-lipped about future product - you can't believe a single "scoop" you read unless it comes from a Mazda press release - but I did have someone confirm that the lifespan of the ND would be typical for a Miata. Which means roughly 8-9 years. Which means we're almost done, not counting the Covid pause.

I feel the same way about both points. Regarding sightings - it makes sense. The NA and NB annual sales numbers in the US were roughly double the average ND sales year. So there should exist about 4x as many NA/NB cars compared to NDs. If 1/2 are still on the road, that still makes an NA/NB more common than the ND.

They're "old" and I still can't afford them! I really wanted an orange anniversary ND. All the used ones are priced over MSRP.
