there is a Biturbo on winston-salem CL right now.

"motor doesn't spin from sitting." that does not sound good.

What?  A BiTurbo that doesn't run?  That sounds odd...(end sarcasm)

There must be a million odd combinations that are possible but there is one thing that has eluded The Challenge for all of its years:

Maserati BiTurbo

I saw one for sale recently while on my quest for a new toy.

In reply to Brian :

I'll bet it has less than 50k miles (maybe less than 35k) and owner says it  just needs some TLC (though currently not running.)

I'll bet asking $3,500-ish

Maybe give it an extra long front and put the engine in front of the body and behind the front wheels? Good for balance and it'll look badass...

It'd be the only smart rod in my possession.

Miata, power stroke drive train(yes, I'll argue a power stroke is more powerful than the few exotics I've driven), 33" mud terrains, forest green.

Not impossible just expensive, but I'd drive the hell out of it.

Any gutless GM 80’s FWD, stock. Slicks. No suspension refresh. All budget is toward ensuring the engine and trans survive. Why a bad idea? Because several laps in for any chump style race will be hell. Baracalounger seats with no bolstering. A wicked huge steering wheel. A five point harness that some how wrangles that bench seat. Steering ratio comparable to a battleship. Acceleration nearing dangerous. Brakes that are overwhelmed at even pedestrian speeds. An autox course workers nightmare. A driver’s demise.

To be a truly bad idea I think you would have to pair something with decent performance but questionable decision, like an AMC v8 or Buick nailhead, with an obviously non-optimal transmission, like a T5 or 50's Ford 3-speed with overdrive and drop it into something like a Miata, except with something archaic that might have potential like Sprint car axles and suspension. No one would know if you were a genius or an idiot, even after you ran, but you would be talked about forever.

Turning an old Jaguar into a FWD honda powered automobile is one of my favorite bad ideas. Think of the reliability and MPG you would be adding to the Jaguar.

But your drivers's side window would still fall out of it's tracks at a stoplight.
