Chrysler Group LLC Invites Dealers to Fiat Experience - About 600 Chrysler Group LLC dealers invited to the Fiat Experience - Chrysler Group to present details on Fiat retail network plans - Interested dealers to submit Fiat dealership proposals in September - Dealers to be chosen for Fiat franchises in early October August 9, 2010 , Auburn Hills, Mich. Chrysler Group LLC has invited about 600 of its dealers to attend the Fiat Experience on Aug. 30 in Detroit as it takes another step closer to reintroducing the Fiat brand, starting with the new Fiat 500, in the United States later this year. The approximately 600 dealers were informed today that they are in one of the U.S. markets where Chrysler Group is currently planning representation for the Fiat brand. Chrysler Group has identified 119 markets in the U.S. with strong small-car registrations and growth potential in the small-car segment over the next five years. The Fiat Experience will provide the dealers with a comprehensive overview of Chrysler Group's plans for Fiat in the U.S. Dealers may submit proposals for a Fiat franchise through Sept. 22. "The requirements for Fiat are straightforward: separate sales and display at launch, transitioning to a full dealership facility as the volume grows," said Peter Grady, Chrysler Group's Vice President of Network Development and Fleet. "Our goal is to establish a retail network appropriately sized to serve the market opportunity." The email was sent to dealers today from Grady and Laura Soave, Head of Fiat North America. Chrysler Group, in selecting its Fiat dealers, will consider a number of measures, including: - Dealer sales performance - Plan for a separate Fiat facility - Comprehensive marketing plan - Compliance on dealer standards - Proper capitalization Chrysler Group will announce its Fiat dealers in the fourth quarter.

Awesome. A friend of mine used to work for the local Dodge dealer that is somehow involved. They started seeing tech training videos for the 500 about a year ago.

That Fiat list looks like more outlets than Mini currently has.

It looks like they'll be selling them out of current Chrysler dealers up here.

The 500 is supposed to be in dealerships in about 6 months.

Sweet, they're coming to the A, now if only they'd start selling discount classic parts...

I am surprised that Dallas and Ft. Worth are getting one. Dallas I expected, Ft. Worth not so much.

There's even one planned for my little town - Melbourne, FL. Probably an adjunct to the Chrysler dealership.

I can't believe Louisville is getting one when there isn't a large enough dealer compared to the one in Lexington. Most of the dealers in L-ville are land locked or suck at selling and servicing cars.

Hell same thing with Chattanoga over Knoxville. I thought they would want to sell cars, not have window shopping opportunites. This especially applies since Hotlanta isn't THAT far away....

Personally I would have looked at MINI, VW and Scion dealers and stuck one across the street from the most popular dealer in every city.

Why do you say that? Michigan'ers (or whatev) aren't any farther from Milwaukee or Detroit than a lot of Texans are from El Paso or Ft Worth. There are places in Tx that are 300+ miles to the nearest of the listed Tx cities.

Texas has 5 times the land area of Michigan, and it has 5 more dealerships.. seems right.

The Philly Wilmington, DE combo seem a little crowded with their proximity to each other. Then again with the sheer number of people buying MINIs in this area it makes sense.

Later this year? I wasn't expecting them to start being sold until fall 2011. And there's going to be a Fiat dealer here in Rochester (no Mini dealer though). Should be interesting!
