It's an interesting car. Pretty much every time it was updated by the magazine, people would complain how they were ruining it, then eventually they'd accept the changes, and then in a few years it would get updated again and the whole cycle would repeat.
The original magazine project car. All others owe their existence to this car. Although someone else would have come up with the idea eventually.
I was not terribly impressed with the redo back in '09. I remember PHR did an article about the first roadtrip after it was built by GM, and the suspension was completely jacked up: The shock bodies were too long and would bottom out internally before the suspension would, they crutched that by putting in massive bumpstops to prevent that and in the process only gave the car 1/2" of travel before it hit the bumpstops, the springs were completely the wrong rate and were in full coil bind when at the installed height. Brett Voekel at Air Ride Technologies ended up going through the chassis completely and fixing all the stuff.
About the show in general, I was worried about Tony Angelo at first, he was very stiff and uninteresting when he started. But he's really grown into the job and teaming him up with Lucky was a stroke of brilliance.
