my mother in law has a 2007 BMW X3 6 spd and it's pretty dang fun to drive for a SUV...but MAN...that thing lives at the shop with 140k miles. I also think she takes it there for every little noise...

let me know when she's ready to sell.

Dang! NC ... also not quite ready. But that would be a sweet one to grab. I like that color combo too!

Get in line! lol, the local euro shop already started a line for the car. Honestly, her car makes me nervous about a E90 becuase MAN, that thing lives at the shop. I bet she's spent $10k in repairs in the last 3-4 years and it's nothing major...just always $300 here, $500 there...makes me sort of lean toward a E46 but those are getting hard to find.

If you decide you want a manual transmission e46 sedan, just put out the word here. Many of us spend copious amounts of time perusing cars for sale. We'll find you something in no time!

So, just found out about the new Club Spec series for autocross, so I'm HEAVILY, HEAVILY leaning toward a 05-09 Mustang GT!

It's actually one of if not my favorite Mustang esthetically speaking and isn't terrible on 87 octane. A few folks mentioned the 3.7L Mustang too - which is actually really intriguing as well.

I also really like the idea of the NC Miata Club Spec as well and if my wife was onboard with a 2 seater, I could go that way too. It's just less useful because I can't take/pick up both kids from school in a NC.

Since we all suffer from the same sickness - modding our cars and taking them from comfy street cars to track/autox oriented cars - I LOVE the Club Spec rules because I can't really 'ruin' the streetability of the car. Koni's and basic springs and sways, most of the rest of the car is stock.

After looking around, there are 05-09 Mustang GTs in my price range and I could probably splurge another $1-2k to get a little nicer model.

Just thought I would pop back in here with an update! https://www.scca.com/clubspec

I'm not familiar with Club Spec, but if you want fuel economy, why pick the older V8 mustang over a slightly newer 3.7L that makes the same power, etc? EPA combined fuel economy 18 vs. 23mpg.
