GRM publisher Tim Suddard recently got the chance to test out a GTA stock car thanks to Butch Kummer of the Atlanta region SCCA. Butch is a great guy who helps make the ARRC at Road Atlanta a reality, so catching a ride with him was a no-brainer.

Enjoy!
Looks like one hell of a lot of fun.
Editing problem starting at 4:18 you have sound from the next clip overlapping Tim talking in the car.
THAT'S what I'm talking about!!!
Rabbits & Ricers just don't sound like that.
Fun!
BTW, what's the bright red light on the dash mean?
My gosh . . .the sound!!!

Butch has long been a mainstay in the Atlanta region. He is an upstanding guy and has an impressive resume from wheeling his Corvette(s) in solo, hillclimb and road racing events.
Thanks for the video!

I too wondered what the red light ment and if I the driver should be concerned.
Butch is a really great guy. I wish I had a better experience working with the region...I would still be there if I could.

I always liked it that Butch names his cars. I think the one in the vid's named "Cuervo". I gotta get to a club race, I don't think I've seen the man in five years.

Not too shabby, for a first timer in one of these beasts.
Good Job Tim!
Like Butch says: "Best bang for the buck in racin."
LOVE the gear whine downshifting into the corners. Audio porn.
I closed my eyes on the entry to 10.
Great video! Thanks for posting.
Looks a little slow to me...
Yes! We've got a video!
(Okay, like two people know where that's from.)
If anyone's thinking about getting yourself one, here's a link.

Circle track cars here in the South are cheap, and I'll bet y'all up in the Midwest have plenty of `em as well. You will not see 170mph for less (unless it's a motorcycle ). You ought to hear them when the pack comes around, it's like an old IMSA AAGT race.

Yea, I'm still wondering that.
(where can your race those up here in the rust belt? although, I'd need a bigger trailer)
Great, now instead Spec Racer Ford I'll be dreaming about one of these for awhile!

ROFL! "To the station!!" Somewhere in all my crap I've got the whole series on DVD. IIRC, BBC America release, it's called "Every Stoopid Episode" if you wanna go look for it.

There are a number of these for sale right now on RacingJunk under
road race cars, also under late model stock cars. or at
the v8stockcar.com message board.
A basic road race conversion can be done for as little as 1500.
you can pick up roller late models for as little as 3000, add a SBC, or
a LS crate motor and a Jerico or T10. You'll have one wicked ride for
about the same as a front running spec miata.....and the tires are
cheaper to boot.
