I thought the same thing when I bought my 5000TL's. It's been less of an issue than I thought it would be, which annoys me because I would have been better served by a mid-rise scissor lift.

I have the 5000TL and an ND Miata. It's works but it is snug. The 7000TL is only .75" longer than the 5000. I think that would fit on an ND. The extra 2-4 (or more?) inches on the knockoff probably means this one won't fit under a Miata.
