So, what do we think happened? Jump gone wrong? 

I am betting somebody did some work and forgot to torque the bolts OR torqued them way too much.

The 3 bolts are still there and the back side stud is still there.  Damage is that the black rubber failed.  The car must have been towed to this resting spot.  But, being on a city street, it can't stay there long.  Someone should buy cheap before it's towed.  

I suspect hard damage to right front was hard into a curb.  The left tire has been replaced too since the tire there does not match the other 3.  Fender damage on right is from previous tire blow out.  I'm pretty sure the left tire is not centered on the wheel well either.   

So this thing has composite front fenders? Just earned something

He's asking $6k for it. You can find similar-year 328i's all day long for that price NOT all berkeleyed up. Unless the "cheap" was like $2k, I wouldn't touch that thing with a 10-foot pole..
