That sure didnt take long, did it? Its almost like they knew they were going to do that when they told the stylists to make it sporty.
One thing ive been annoyed with Honda about is how they seem to hold off things for years and years simply so they can stage their product releases to not compete with each other. Im guessing the only reason we dont have the Fit Hybrid yet is because of the Insight and CR-Z releases.
I was talking to Ma$$hole and Pseudosport about this yesterday. Ma$$hole let me drive his new to him Civic Si Sedan for a while yesterday and I was floored at how much I liked the car. The steering, handling, shifter, seats, brakes, and engine sounds were great. In a lot of ways, it just felt better all around than my WRX. The only think I could think of to improve it was the addition of a factory turbo. The car felt absolutely awesome to drive, but coming from my torquey WRX, it felt a little lacking below where the VTEC comes on. A turbo would compliment this type of setup nicely, and add a dimension of tuning that the cars never had before. If this drivetrain actually makes it into production in a Civic Si Sedan, it'll be at the top of my list for my next car down the road.
And I can't believe I'm saying that!

I understand. When it came time to choose between the Civic and 06 WRX, I let the Subie go.
now that would be a proper evolution/replacement for the CRX... I would even consider buying a new car if the Type R the cut ..
i was checking out the engine bay at the boston auto show yesterday and this was pretty much my conclusion... that engine bay is more than big enough for extra displacement or turboey goodness. and ditch the hybrid crap for a proper Si model.
All this stuff about 1.6 turbo motor making 160, Type R having 200, I think that Honda should just cut the crap. Have a press release saying "Haha, gotcha! Here's the real CR-Z". They could even call it the "real" version, and it would have a K20a. Nothing fancy, I know. But in a small car like this, 200hp and I-Vtec would make this thing a screamer. Is anybody with me on this?
