As a lover of engine swaps to me , this is perfection!

'79? In most states, emissions is no longer a question. Very interesting car. There are a couple of people who really want it, based on the bidding history. Any guesses on final price?
GNX engine? I dunno.....they only made 500 GNX's so the chances of this having one of those engines is doubtful. I'd bet it has a standard Grand National engine, which is still a 3.8 intercooled turbo, and no slouch. You also see Grand Nationals called GNXs all the time over the interwebs, so it wouldn't be surprising if this was an error.
I've also seen the GN 3.8 stuffed into a DeLorean. That was an interesting beast! (and a similar platform to the Esprit)

According to the wiki, the early Esprits used inboard rear brakes.
Yeah, someone had printed that thing out and taken it to the autocross club meeting last night. VERY cool.

That's what I assumed, but couldn't find them in the pictures.
That embodies all that is right in the world.
But why no mention of the HP the engine makes if it was professionally built?

Maybe because you can ALWAYS make a tremendous crapload of power for WAY less than it costs to build a nice, swapped Lotus, so catering to the size queens of the car world in your ebay ad is counterproductive anyway?
Holy hell I want that car! A buddy of mines father owned a 91 Esprit(one of 20 badass cars he owns), when his parents were out of town we would take the Lotus out cruising for ladies. Ever since then I have wanted an Esprit of my own! The crazy amount of money he spent on repairs successfully scared me off however...I'd settle for an Exige though!
