I am not sure folks are turned off by the HIGH price of any particular VW as much as they are by the (perceived?) very poor value. VW used to offer 3 years "free" maintenance when you bought a new car, tho I'm not sure if they still do, and they never emphasized that fact in their ads.
What amazes me is that considering their iffy quality, folks still buy ANY VW product. But then again, I went back and looked at some old CU car buyer's quides....CU has/was? HIGHLY recommending VW for DECADES.
Audi passed the 1 MILLION sales worldwide, this year. They plan on passing the 1.5 MILLION sales mark by 2012-2015.
