What say the group?

Series IIA/Series III with the dauntless engine.....all the way till the rear foot and a half of the frame falls off.
Yeah, but try to DD one. I wouldn't around here but would love one. I'm thinking modern LR with air bags and abs. To many idiot drivers around here.
What was that one company putting LS3s into Defender 90s and 110s? Maybe one of those. No clue on the ABS, probably not on the air bags.
The best Land Rover is probably a Toyota Land Cruiser, followed by a Nissan Patrol, then a tie for third between a Montero and Disco.

Overfinch? I know there are more, but they're the original hot rod LR shop.

I vote this for next month's "Say What?" section.
In reply to Keith Tanner:
Twisted Automotive was apparently the one I was thinking of.
Mostly GM drivetrain and manual windows. I don't see how this isn't the most reliable Land Rover.

IIRC Overfinch pretty much only worked on Range Rovers, not Defenders. Probably something to do with the pretty high percentage of Diesel Defenders and Discoveries in the UK.
since replacing the engine in my Disco, it has given me a good 15,000 miles trouble free service. Only issue right now is the light for the airbags is on because it thinks I am not wearing my seatbelt

Looks like they have a Denferder offering currently. It mostly just looks like a bling treatment though.

That's a pretty big caveat (new engine) for just 15000 miles...

I know a guy who has a Tomcat, it's not better than the stock Defender (reliability-wise). He's disassembled it and is making an Ultra4 Unlimited-style truck now because he has too much money.

yes, but it is not only the engine you have to worry about in these. The rest of the drivetrain is pretty stout, but it is the electricals. Aside from needing a sensor in my seatbelt, the rest of my disco is holding up just fine.
This is also my daily, it starts up every time and gets me to and from work without drama, aside from it's incredible thirst
The thirst of jeeps, LRs and LCs is insane. Full size Fords, Chevys and Dodges is much lower. Although, a full time 4wd k5 from 30 years ago was always in single digits
