OK I will bite.

The Evo is SOO MUCH BETTER than the WRX STI that they should simply not be compared at anytime and if anyone asks for a comparison they should be found and forced to listen, at a 2 foot distance, to a WRX STI with a straight pipe going from idle with full throttle to redline and back to idle over and over again for 10hours straight. While seated they will have their nose and ears pierced, fitted with a flat bill, and forced to drink Monster Energy drinks.

OK?... good... done...

It certainly is better at being an Evo than the STI is.

One word of caution re the Evo X - make sure the ergonomics suit you properly. They don't suit me that well (steering wheel too far away, seat not adjustable for rake) and as a result I've been hobbling about with a really upset knee for the last couple of days after a quick 500 mile trip in it. OK, so I've got bad knees but the driver's ergonomics seem to be the #1 complaint with the Evo X.

The STi has issues with the stock tune in some years, and the piston ringlands in all years (mainly when modified). The rest is pretty stout. You'll need an Anti-Lift Kit and some other mods to start tuning out the understeer (and some have had bad luck, but I LOVE my Q-rack).

The Evo has a stout powertrain that can make a lot of power easier than the STi. The rest... is made by Mitsubishi Handling in stock or stockish form is better than the STi.

FWIW, STi's AWD is longitudial, 35/65 (2004-2005) or 41/59 static F/R split. Evo's is transverse, haven't ever been able to find out what the static split is. Evo has more electro wizardry to cover over it but at it's core it's a transverse FWD-based AWD setup (similar to the DSMs).

Evo has better diffs than the STI stock for stock.

Evo has the engine and trans in front of the front wheels, Subaru has light engine in front and heavy transaxle behind the front wheels, so advantage there should be Subaru. Meaning: The Evo has MUCH better suspension and diffs.
