2011 Kia Soul with 225/45-18. Needs tires. Can I use a 225/50-18? Much cheaper for the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 in this size.

2011 Kia Soul with 225/45-18. Needs tires. Can I use a 225/50-18? Much cheaper for the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 in this size.
You can but it is taller, just under an inch. May have some effect on the speedometer reading.
Any thoughts on other possible issues, ie: ABS, Cruise Control, etc?
Might be better off going 215/50r18 if its an option. I'm planning on switching my stock wheels from 225/45r17 to 215/50r17 to broaden my all season options lol
