Cheap ole me just could not put it off any longer. Been seeing the air in the tires for weeks and I have been driving like a maniac. Had to get two tires. And I am very happy with the pricing I just found at tirebuyer.com. Scored a pair of Dunlop SP 5000s for $63 each and free shipping. They did get me for tax of $5 each but still a screaming deal versus every other place I found.
Reviving this thread from zombie status. I bought a set of tires for the project Volvo - was looking for the cheapest and this website was it. Same price as Tirerack, free shipping to the door or installer, and decent selection. Doesn't look like they have nearly the amount of performance tires as Tirerack does, however.
Add in that Retailmenot has a $40 instant discount code, and General Tire is offering a $50 Visa card, and the set of four ran me just over $200.
They do sell some performance tires. Local shop here gets them from the supplier servicing under the tirebuyer umbrella. Your best bet is to call them vs using a limited selection web portal, if you want something more then mundane DD tires.

tire buyer = $90.64 ea - no mention of rebate + free shipping
tire rack = $85.00 ea + $40 rebate + shipping

I got some snow tires for my crx at tire buyer. After figuring in shipping, tax, and mounting it was the cheapest buy a small margin.
huh. All the tires in my size were the same base price between this site and the tire rack.
The rebates are almost always manufacturer rebates, so it should be valid even at the tirebuyer site.
Using your equation...
TireRack: $340 tires - $40 rebate + approx $40 ship = $340
TireBuyer: $360 tires - $40 coupon - $40 rebate = $280

Huh? Since you mutilated the sentence into incomprehensible gibberish....
From what I'm seeing any tire I want is actually less expensive at Tire Rack.
shrug

*shrug*
Living in the middle of nowheres-ville, I am exactly the opposite. TR is absurd with their shipping charges, which puts them WAY out of any kind of all in one pricing divided into one tire's price. $20 is still $20, hell, even $5 is still $5 I can spend or not spend elsewhere.

I shopped TR in the past because shipping 2.5hrs away is a one day UPS ride and not that horrible of a charge.
Now, I just have my local Discount Tire price match and get them through there.....normally get free rotations once a month too.
