Certainly a story ripe for potential.  Based on the actors involved, looks like they will put some actual effort and money into it (though that also might increase the chances of padding the story). In the least, there has got to be some good 935 action going on.  You would HOPE they don't go with heavy CGI in it, but you never know.  Hopefully they build a bunch of replicas and use CGI to fill in the distant cars and backgrounds.

I am pretty confident they will skip the airplane part (years after the above and just one brother, not much of a story)...

I haven't heard this one yet. Like you said, there's a lot of promise here–especially if they decide to go more practical.

While there's no mention of a potential director, the named producer, Charles Roven, has some familiar film hits under his Producer credits on IMDB–namely Oppenheimer, The Dark Night and a slew of other superhero films.

This would be nothing but excellent if they stuck to the truth.  It's also ripe for fictionalization--there was a Tom Cruise movie a few years ago that attempted this to an extent--can't remember the title.  As for the airplane element, Road Atlanta played a part.  It's not boring.

For anyone who doesn't know, look up the story of the brothers on VinWiki/YouTube.  I heard/saw the guy who did that video recite the story in person at Canepa in Scotts Valley--it's a great freaking story, even if it does end with prison . . .

I do worry they will pump it up a bit.  Then again, they might leave stuff out because no one would think it was true (like Hacksaw ridge).

If you are thinking of American Made, that was based off someone else,  A pretty good movie in my opinion. Has some good flying sequences, as most Tom Cruise movies do.
