How is there not a thread about this???
A brand new TGA is on BBC America right now. (8pm est)
Because it's hard to get excited about the dumpster fire that has been all previous attempts at other TopGear series without the original three idiots?
That could just be my opinion though.
This isn't the History Channel putting it on. It's the BBC.
They are not perfect, but better than the first tga. Especially their first season.
Check it out.

might as well have been motortrend.
Just finished it, it wasn't terrible. I hope it gets better as the hosts get more comfortable with each other. I think the best part of the original Top Gear is the chemistry between the hosts.
Didn't have a clue that this was happening. We cut cable a few years ago and are streaming so we try to pick series/shows that are finished so we don't have to spend 6 months waiting for new episodes. We're watching the first version of Top Gear USA and are into season 3. It got better after the first season, and while not as good as the original, I've been enjoying it. Just watched the episode with 'Merican trucks in Iceland last night...
Guess I ought to consider the BBC Top Gear with the new hosts...
I like the TGA America series! I think it's fantastic that they are at least putting American car shows on television, and not that same stupid crap that you see about people pulling cars out of storage units or restoring BS like old Chevys. every freaking show is being like that and I can't stand that reality series style anymore.

i enjoyed the original top gear america more then i did any of the others. Ive never understood all the hate for it!
TGA got pretty good after the first few shows. New Top Gear is really good now that shoutey guy is gone. I tried to watch the new Clarkson May Hammond thing, but they just expanded most of the crap I was tired of on old Top Gear.
Who's hosting new TGA?
I liked the old TGA from the very beginning except for the Yankee dude. He was useless.
This one, not so much. The black guy's voice sounds like he ought to do voice overs on cartoons.
The actor, just didn't gel.
The Brit wasn't bad
I'll give the new TGA some time and see how it chakes out. The car for guests to drive should have been American though, not a Honda. (Regardless of where assembled)
New TGA, new cast, on the BBC? Interesting and good luck to them. That said, no cable, and no interest in any non Clarkson and friends TG.

I'm curious, will have to give it a look.
They can never recreate the old original Top Gear at it's best, but if they keep trying, they might make something else awesome in a new way.

William Fitchner, Antron Brown, and Tom Ford.
And the track is a real track, which they need to work on corner names. Otherwise, the guest drive is very quiet.
I don't think I liked any of the original Top Gear America crew. Foust, Wood, Ferrera just never came across well to me.
They may be the best people in the world, but they seemed non-human on the show.
I'm going to check it out. Everyone loves to hate on anything that isn't Jeremy, James, and Richard. But those folks forget how forgettable the first few seasons were, and how stale the last few were getting despite the tremendous money put into production.
Any car show not trying to sell me something is good news. Thanks for posting.
I liked the old TGA crew, the last two seasons they gelled well. I watched the new TGA last night and wasn't very impressed with the crew. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt but I'm not impressed.
Not sure why they just didn't reuse the old TGA crew....
I missed that a new series had started, and that they had changed the crew. Anyone want to give a review of the first show, before I look for a rerun episode? Something beyond "it was good" or "it sucked".
Caught it the other night, SO wanted it to be good. I was BAD for every reason that you can imagine !
You know good when you see it, and this isn't it; just a terrible attempt at a terrible copy.
Not gonna bother with it again.

Who knows. Probably too much baggage and they just wanted to restart fresh. The original USTG trio are working on putting a new show together, but nothing is confirmed yet.
The irony to me is how the USTG was in reality more like what everyone thought the UKTG show was. While the UK show was incredibly scripted down to every joke, the US version had very little script at all, and even less as the three idiots (their own term) got to know each other better. During his Facebook live session Adam will occasionally talk about what the production was like for USTG.
As far as the new TGA and TG-TNG, I'll watch them when the realize pay-tv is dying and they come up with some sort of streaming system.
You'll need to log in to post.
