The Jeep Commanders looks to fit within your budget pretty easily. The interiors look a bit bigger and more upmarket than the Liberty, and you can get it with a V8.

*note: I know nothing about the reliability of these.

I would stick with a Ford or Chevy Truck/SUV. Parts are cheaper than the BMW stuff (I'm assuming). The Fords have a fully boxed frame but the GMs have the 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 family of engines that are great!

The wagon idea is a good one - I had a Crown Vic. It towed my Omni on a Econo-Trailer(brand-name) very well (I was caught doing 90 in VA) with sway control and a load-level hitch.

Another vote for the Tahoe

My Jeep Liberty works very well with that weight and they are becoming affordable. Have gotten as high as 14 mpg towing .

I wish it were mine. I'm seriously tempted to sell my Impala SS so I can get a wagon to turn into something like that one.

I agree with the trailblazer thing, BUT in saab 9-7x guise for WAAAY better style and flair factor.

Another vote for a Yukon/Tahoe. Drive decent, look nice, tow very well.

the realtors all buy hummers because if they purchase a car over 6000 lbs they can use it as a business tax write off and it basically pays for itself.

Yukon Denali for extra luxury bits without the excess Caddy "Bling-Bling"

On my way home from picking up a set of craigslisted LSx blazer mounts(this thread might have been a waste) I stopped a dealership with a white 05 Yukon Denali it looks to be pretty well loaded and in good shape for $19995 is it worth it?

an 05? shop around. I dunno the mileage but they don't hold their value all that well.
