I am already gathering and tracking down all my removed oem FR-S parts to carefully store them and have put a halt on plans and mods I had in place for the FR-S... will be following development of the S-FR VERY closely.

Used FR-S values please don't fall too much during the next few years! And Toyota you better bring the S-FR over here - the sooner the better, please be a 2017 model release!!! (which would be perfect with the FR-S being paid off and fully mine then.... )

This is what i'm thinking... with this interior, looks like they're aiming at the "cheaper than Miata" market.

If correct, i'm interested. Styling is funky to me, but interesting without being completely offensive.

I love this. I realize that we won't ever see it in the U.S. But man, send it over here, price it under 20K and I'm sold.

I kind of wonder if Scion is going to do away with the FR-S and "sell the rights" to Subaru for the twins, and then Toyota drops this into the market under a Scion badge......

I think it's easier to sell and more marketable if it has a back seat..............even if it's completely useless.

I don't think Subaru would want it. Considering the BRZ sales peaked in 2012 at 8000 sales and has been steadily declining since.

As for the S-FR, wow, that car is homely. Looks like it got driven head-on into the ugly tree at terminal velocity

It appears to be a Kei car.....which means it will be very unlikely to ever see the US market.

Not really an ugly car, but the very angry headlights clash with the cute and feminine styling, and unfortunately it has a nasty case of Krill Grille.

Your eyes deceive you. It is actually bigger than an ND MX-5 (but smaller than an FR-S) and has a 1.5L engine. So it has much more of a chance than something like the S660, at least.

+1 for current FR-S owner very interested in this! I even almost bought a Sport 800 on two different occasions. I will follow with interest.

I wonder if this is actually on the ND chassis. There was a rumor going around that Toyota was working with Mazda to use it.

It looks like a flattened and stretched fiat 500. I dig it.

Another car in a miniscule market. Not holding my breath. What we need to do is spread the gospel of sports cars to increase the demand. Alternately, if we can lessen the enthusiasm for monster SUVs and trucks, people might not be afraid to drive a small car.

I came here to write something along these lines. I like the specs, proportions, and general lack of overwrought surface sculpting found on so many new cars today. However, the front end ruins the whole thing. The big-mouth bass grill design theme needs to die.

If you combined sales of the BRZ and FR-S, you'd be looking at something like 12K cars sold this year in the US.

They've sold over 75000 twins since release. Mazda sold about 22000 NCs in the same timeframe. I think they'd do just fine if only Subaru was selling them.

Personally, I think the styling is goofy and downright ridiculous enough to be charming. I would make the grille 33% smaller but otherwise leave it exactly like it is. The angry headlights are awesome IMO.

I kinda dig it. To my eyes, it's way better looking than the Honda convertible thingie that was posted a while ago. Hopefully they bring both to the U.S. We can always use more lightweight-sporty cars.

Interesting. Not the same level of "interesting" as what made me run to the bank and extract large amounts of money as when the the Miata and FRS were originally unveiled, but still interesting.

I see the Twins having another two years before needing a new release. At that point they could very well disappear and this will come out to play.

Toyota has played the power/image card well with this little toy. One look and I get the message not to expect a drag racer. The FRS is too agressive looking for its own good.

I hope it has a real engine rather than a boxer.

I really like it! If they can keep the interior/amenities at a no-frills level (no stupid touch screen this and that, satnav, etc) and around $20,000 I'd strongly consider it.

I think the main reason the BRZ isn't selling is the price. I can get an new WRX for $4k less which has more power, AWD, and is infinitely more practical (if you're into that... )
