I don't know if you can tell by the photos, but track is center of wheel to center of wheel on the same axle. In this case, it is 45".
I have not carried a TR3 on a Uhaul trailer, but I have had an MGA on one and it fit OK. As I recall, the tire track area on the trailer had raised bevels on the inside. Like this (looking forward from the rear): |______/ \______| So a narrow car may be resting on those inner bevels.
From what I've found, the distance between those bevels is 42". I think I'd get their 6x12 utility trailer instead or get a box truck and put the TR3 inside. I've done that with an MGA and a Mini.
I used to move my Midgets around with a Uhaul utility trailer- the one with the ramp on the back. With the car loaded there was about 6" to spare on the sides.
When they would ask what I was hauling I would tell them "scrap".
