Three weeks ago (three weeks ago today, in fact!) I picked up a 2018 Camaro SS 1LE. It's a delight in every way. One of the cool features it has is the PDR, or Performance Data Recorder. It overlays your telemetry and stuff, kinda like a Harry's Lap Timer video, except it comes in the car and saves it onto an SD card.

Here's a session from Blackhawk yesterday. I got my fastest lap while I was chasing that GT3. Harry's told me it was a 1:20.9. The video says it's a 1:21.0. I like the 1:20 better so I'm going with that. :)

That beats my best time in the 997, which was a 1:23.2, and this was my first time out in this car. It's wicked fast.

Yeah, it was an option on the car. The only thing I had to provide was the SD card.

I did the Cadillac V-lab at Daytona almost two weeks ago, and they have the same system in the ATS-V and CTS-V.  It's a Cosworth system, who owns Pi Data.

Very cool! Thanks for posting it. Had no idea that was available in the car.

That is SO cool. The new Camaros are awesome and this onboard video/data capture is also awesome and the fact that you bought a cool car and immediately started racing it is ALSO awesome. I can't upvote this situation enough.

We've met! You and Oldtin and I went to the Zion Pick-and-pull a few years ago.

And, yeah, I'm really loving the car. It is super heavy so it devours brake pads, but it is wonderful to drive. I couldn't recommend it more. I'm up to 2300 miles now and they've all been happy! :)

I envy you that feature.  Very nice, especially since Harry's is working almost not at all on anything past the iPhone 6.

I expect your new car will shine even more once you get it to a track with a little more distance between the turns.  Enjoy!

Cool video, and really cool that they offer that as an option.
