This doesn't make sense: I replaced any questionable vacuum lines, patched one with electrical shrink tube, replaced the PCV check valve and drove it. Boot scooted around town, picked up a fresh killed turkey, then hopped on the highway for 15 miles with NO INCIDENTS.
What the heck? Was what I was feeling or sensing NOT a break in ignition? If it really was a vacuum leak, why was it intermittent, how does that slam the engine right off like someone pulled a switch?
I love old crap .....
Finally!! I had the opportunity to get the truck up in the air last night. With the engine running, I got under it and poked and tugged at things, looked like someone was welding up near the starter! The battery cable going to the starter was arcing out on the exhaust manifold.
Simple - Stupid stuff.
A pizza and a dozen wings will be delivered to Paul's shop for use of the lift.
Money well spent....
Yeah, that'll do it.
How did that not get found by the previous shop?
They probably don't give refunds.
