Worth paying some shmuck nearly 600 bucks to do? (linex premium.)

My truck came with a spray in and I can't imagine going back to plastic. Very much worth it if you will be holding on to the truck IMO

I've done Herculiner on a work truck and whatever DIY vatozone sold 10 years ago on my mothers' truck. Neither one held up worth a E36 M3. If I were using the bed for much of anything I'd say it's well worth getting it done by a pro.

Having a pro do it reduces the risk of getting it on your hootus.

Personal observation.

A pro with a warranty is worthwhile. The spraycan stuff done in a backyard is likely to flake.

Very happy with the Al's Liner I lined the tub of my TJ (Muffin) with.

It's DIY, and a little more involved, than just spraying a can or rolling it on, i.e. you must mix all the parts before it can be applied. I personally think Al's and Raptor/U-pol are the best DIY options on the market, but just like everything, preparation is key.

I've got Raptor Liner in my XJ. Would absolutely recommend, it's holding up great so far. For prep, I scuffed everything with a scotchbrite pad and wiped down with acetone, sprayed primer on any bare metal surfaces (was patching floors), and of course masked everything. Think I paid like $100-120 for the kit, worth doing yourself IMO. Hootus survived unscathed

If you go DIY, check out Grizzly Grip too. They're in FL so shipping is cheap to the southeast.I used their stuff on a camper roof and had great luck with it, but surface prep is KEY. If you're not willing to deal with sanding and serious cleaning, I'd leave it to the pros. I do think the pro stuff is more tenacious than the DIY even in the best case.

Monstaliner is another good DIY kit. Like everyone has said prep is key. I am a big fan of LineX have it on all my trucks and had aluminum panels for my Exocet coated in it. I will say it's tough I cut holes in the aluminum panels with a cut off wheel and a hole saw and it never delaminated from the aluminum.

I worked for a fleet that ran a few hundred work trucks. We did not spend the money for bed liners. Did the beds get scratched and beat up? Yes. Did it affect the value when we sold the old trucks several years down the road? No, not as far as we could tell.
