So, the shifter and linkages are a factory ford floor shift piece from an aod. The trans is a col7mn shift aod from a lincoln town car.
The car is a 1980 amc spirit.
Any way i try to hook the cable to the trans, it fouls the kickdown cable. The lever on the trans won5 come off to flip it, which would work (probably). The extension arm i made fouls everything up.
The cable, if a lot longer, could come from the front. At its current length, it needs to come from the back.
Essentially, i need to hook up a cable shifter for an aod, to an aod, and have no idea how to make it work with what i have or can obtain stupid cheap.

Where we ran out of talent last night.
Ideas?
I have nothing to add beyond compliments on how clean that transmission is. You need to get it driving so it can start to look more natural.
In reply to GhiaMonster:
Im trying! Shifter, driveshaft, wiring, a little more plumbing, and test drive!!!!
Maybe get rid of that home made bracket, take the factory bracket and cut off everything so all your left with is the part that goes on the shifter shaft and fab up a piece to weld to it that will clear everything?
Hadn't thought about welding on it. Something tells me that it may be a bad idea, but I am not sure why.
Ive done it. Its not a big deal.
