Ugly Miata

Saw something today that actually turned my stomach. A bright red Miata with the UGLIEST body kit I've ever seen. The new front end sported a protruding opening that looked like my skinny aunt puckering up to give me an unwanted kiss. Had side thingys, and a badly revamped rear. And a turbo badge. Interior had been painted to match the exterior. Young Latin guy driving. Hideous, at best. The plastic front was even lumpy looking. Had the flip headlights replace with small black projectors. Horrible design, badly excuted. Even considering that I was in Miami, this was a world class abomination.

Not as bad as when I found it on the side of the road. Two weeks later my friend was there waving $380 under the guy's nose.

Hilariously enough, a buddy of mine has that kit on his Miata. I've tried telling him it looks horrific to no avail.

I believe it is called an "Itallia".

For the past couple of months there was one posted on FM's for sale page, it's gone now, but it had a none-to-flattering body kit and some gawdy chrome wheels.

That would have been Rod's car. He was a real enthusiast, even if you didn't agree with his taste.

The Veilside/Erebuni (one's a ripoff of the other) kits are both popular and, umm, hideous. Bad combo. And yes, the Gearz car had an Italia kit on it.

Yup, that was obvious by the the suspension and engine tweaks. They seemed to be in juxtaposition with the car's visuals though. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

It looked like the Vielside kit, but with the headlights replaced with projectors. bad.
