Last year I passed a competitor on an open trailer with "King of the Mountain" stickers on it so I did a Google search. Turns out its an event in Clearfield, Pennsylvania for Pro Touring cars. Who knew.
Has anyone on here been to that event? What is it like. The King of the Mountain website really hypes it up. Seems like its for high dollar cars and such.
What do you know?
Is anyone planning on going?
Having raced there a couple weeks ago during Summit Autocross Week, it's a cool venue
We have a few locals in the SCCA region whom make the drive and have done quite well. It's a cool event with a lot of fast stuff.

Its only a little over 2 hours form my house - I'm thinking about going to walk around and soak it in.
The 2023 King is sporting a GRM sticker on his ride...

Been to the event. It's an all-day thing, going into the night. Some really neat cars there. Collecting admission seems to be a lackadaisical thing. We went earlier in the day and just parked/went in. You can go down into the infield to see the cars but you are stuck there until the session is over.
I've worked camera for KOTM twice, competed once. 10/10 would recommend. This atmosphere of UMI is like nothing you could ever imagine anywhere else in autocross. I'm spoiled that it's a home track for me. Yeah people have high dollar cars, but most people don't. There's literally nothing else like it in the world. No purpose built autox track with no work assignments. The peachey boys fair quite well at it and they don't have high dollar cars. Theyre just fast drivers. The nighttime shootout course is literally unmatched. Oh, and they allow drones for filming the cars. No dumb scca laws here. So yes, it's worth going too.

Thanks for the recommendation!
Also worth pointing out it's not exclusively an event for pro touring cars I believe an Evo, a late model NSX, and a MZR/Duratec powered RX8 have won in the past.
I competed in it last year. Great event and an absolute blast to watch the shoot out in person
