How does the 2025 Subaru WRX tS compare with a Toyota GR Corolla?

Our test driver J.G. Pasterjak took one around the Grassroots Motorsports official test track, the Florida International Rally & Motorsport Park, to find out.

I drove one of those WRXs at the LA auto show, it was really good.  It actually felt like a real car compared to a lot of the annoying things that have been added to lost modern cars.

I'm a Subaru fan, but I'm loving my GR Corolla.

If I'm reading this correctly, the GRC is cheaper, it's faster, and for much less than the price difference I can add aftermarket brake pads to make it brake as/almost as good?

it sounds like the cooling issue for the rear diff is solved for the GR corolla but it isn't cheap, several thousand needs to be invested right?  Subaru isn't exactly a pillar of track reliability either so I guess there is that.
