Cars too fast to compete in the Firestone Firehawk Series? IMSA had a series for that: The Bridgestone Tire Supercar Series.
The field consisted of familiar favorites, such as Corvettes and FD RX-7s, as well as more exotic machinery, including Porsche 964 Turbos and Lotus Esprits.

This is after they added the infield section after Turn 2. If you watch a race before that section was added in order to slow the cars it looks like they warp from 2 to 6. Like, "Did I miss something?" "Do they not have enough cameras?"
