I was looking at a 2013 BMW 328i when I realized that it didn't have VIN stickers on all the doors, trunk lids and hood. Somehow I thought my old E46 used to have them. I later checked my GTI and noticed that it also didn't have VIN stickers on the doors, trunk lids and hood. Do cars, specifically F30 BMWs, still come with these VIN stickers or not? The Carfax came back clean with no accident. Thanks guys.
Maybe the panels were swapped? Repaint? Maybe the previous owner peeled them off?
BMW hasn't used them in awhile. I think the E36 is the last series.

Short answer: It depends, largely on the manufacturer.
In general:
Germans almost never do it.
Japanese used to, but don't now. (namely current gen Toyotas)
Americans used to not, but now do (especially Chevrolet)
It's tough to roll out your jump-to-conclusions-mat and assume that the car has been in a huge accident just because there aren't any VINs. Now if there were VINs on every panel except, say, a hood or one fender, then you might be on to something.
my 95 Neon has the VIN stickers all over it.. they went so crazy that there is one on the inside of each quarter panel inside the trunk.
