I'm removing the stickers from my Miata, a few at a time. Interestingly, some of the sponsor/product ones (bumper sticker type) were stuck to a layer of white vinyl, which was then laid down on the paint. I believe they were professionally applied.
Anyone familiar with this? It's made removal a bit easier.
Today I removed the ones on the doors. The number is magnetic.
I'm not sure where I'm going to stop; may remove them all, or I might put a GRM sticker back on the doors.
I rarely drive it on the street, unless I'm going to an autocross event.
Multi layer vinyl is common in the sign business, IE professional. Easy removal is not all that common though, consider yourself lucky.

Plastic razor blade picked them right up, then every one of them peeled off in one piece. I'm sure the fact that the paint was ceramic coated made a big difference.
I think I might need to leave the Mazda stickers to be eligible for discounts on parts through the Motorsports program.
Where do you buy plastic razor blade?
Also where can i get magnet numbers?
I buy my plastic razor blades at Ace Hardware. Invaluable for getting under stickers without getting under your paint.
There is a huge difference in the quality of vinyl that stickers are printed on. In comparison, regular vinyl is consistent, removes well, and lasts a long time before becoming brittle and hard to remove. I've never heard of putting stickers on vinyl first, but it sounds like an excellent idea.
Magnetic numbers can be bought commercially or made yourself like the ones in the photo. If you have someone make them for you, be sure to use one of the grm sponsors.
I've bought the white magnetic sheets from Grainger's and from the sign shop. I used the special spray paint made for plastic and vinyl.
although they stick very well and are unlikely to come off at an autocross, I also glue small rare earth magnets to them.
