I'm considering an 06 c230 with 87k miles. Looks to be in excellent shape but has an ABS light on. Quick reading suggests this is typically the brake switch needing replaced so I'm not worried about that too much.
Anything else to worry about or inspect heavily before buying?

Sounds about right. The more I've talked to the owner, the more issues started being presented. First ABS and now a cylinder 5 misfire. They dropped the price to $1000 from $3000. The car looks pristine, so I may still snatch it up to flip. BUT it's an hour away so that means towing it home which isn't ideal.
I parted a w204 and let me tell you it taxed my tool supply. I had to buy tools for the first time in a long time. Be ready with triple square, e-torx, etc. Also the coolant is the same color as washer fluid which threw me.

I've probably got most of those just due to Audi life but the more I'm considering the car the less I think it makes sense. If it wasn't an hour away I'd buy but also too many unknowns that worry me. For $1000 it's hard to say no though when it looks well kept.
