because of Elsa got me to thinking... what happens to an electric car when you drive through too deep a puddle?

Only thing Google told me was that your bumper flies off https://insideevs.com/news/433643/video-tesla-model-3-rear-bumpers-fly-off/
I would hope that they have everything sealed up properly in such a way that it couldn't do anything, but if there was an issue with a deep enough puddle then you'd likely end up shorting a major line and (hopefully) there'd be a damn big fuse that would pop, or potentially you'd short a cell and then it would start to cascade and your car would burn up.
Went through a few deep ones in the i3 with no issues.
One thing you don't have to worry about is hydro locking the motor!

Hopefully, it either floats, or can self-drive the drowned driver to the nearest hospital for resuscitation.
Speaking of deep puddles. Since we're basically at sea-level, there aren't any drains on any of the streets in town(at least I presume that's the reason). Since we get heavy rains almost daily this time of year, the streets flood almost as frequently.
I've discovered that in the van I don't even need to slow down for anything 6" deep or less, so I've been getting a lot of joy the last month kicking up 8'-12' rooster tails - obviously when no pedestrians are around. It's kinda like jumping in puddles as a little kid, only I don't get wet.
