We traded in my GF's Mazda3 lease this week for a 2019 Model 3 Stealth Performance.
Nikki wasn't sure about getting the Performance model, but once she drove it, she fell in love - that said, I'm pretty certain she hasn't floored it.
This one had the FSD subscription paid for up front - so when (if?) that ever happens - it'll be good to go.
I know alot of car guys at these things - but berkeley, I love it. It's as quick to 60 as my KTM 1290 and BMW K1200S
We are doing a 2800ish mile road trip on it at the end of the month through labor day weekend.

Oh, as you can see, we got it at the Porsche dealership here in Austin. They just moved into a new building and it is beautiful.
Congrats! They're great road trip cars, really relaxing. Might want to pull that roof rack off if you're not using it, without the engine noise you're a lot more aware of aero noise.
The Stealths are an interesting critter. Basically, the Performance drivetrain but not the suspension and sometimes not even the badging. It's like some sort of secret drag racer RPO from the 70s :)

Yeah, she wants me to pull the rack this weekend.
The Stealth is neat. I'm good with the increased ride height for a DD and I'm glad it doesn't have the 20" wheels. I'd be OK with the upgrade brakes though of the Performance/PUP.
I drive by the new Porsche building several times a week. I want to go inside to gawk, but I have neither the intention nor the funds to buy anything inside.
Love it! One of these makes a lot of sense for us, but I still want to hear dino juice go bang!

Brakes on an EV are weird. You either almost never use them thanks to one-pedal driving or you use them really hard because they can accelerate so hard between corners. If this is a daily driver kinda car, it's unlikely you'll miss them. The car comes with some pretty serious braking capability stock - I'm tempted to pick up some of the calipers to use on other things.

We complted our 3500 mile road trip - I really underestimated that!
No issues, a bit of range anxiety when we realized we forgot the mobile charger in the garage. My neighbor shipped it to my mom's house.
It wouldn't have a been an issue, but my hometown that we were visiting if very rural. The nearest SuperCharger is 50 miles away (there isn't even a J1772 within 45 miles). We had to go back to that Supercharger before taking a day trip to Louisville and it was in the opposite direction. But the wall charger showed up on Monday as we hoped. I'd already built a NEMA 14-50 extension cord so we could charge at my mom's house.
The trip was wonderful. We learned alot about how the car behaves. I also learned about "autopilot timeout" when accelerating to get around a semi truck on autopilot. Nikki thought it was the most hilarious thing in the world at midnight when it happened.
In reply to m4ff3w :
Care to explain the autopilot timeout thing? I was even more lost at "accelerating to get around a semi truck on autopilot."
In reply to Jesse Ransom :
I guess if the car determines you are driving dangerously, it punishes you by shutting off the autopilot until you restart the car.

We were cruising along on autopilot, we were doing about 80 and slowly passing a semi doing just under that speed. I pressed the accelerator hard to zoom around the semi and overshot the 90mph limit really quickly.
Autopilot has a hard limit of 90mph. If you exceed that limit using the accelerator, it will turn off autopilot for the duration of the drive (until car is put into park)
In reply to m4ff3w :
Makes sense. Wouldn't want someone abusing autopilot blasting north of 90.

Great toys - took mine for a run from Cincinnati to Grand Rapids this week for the SAE NVH conference and it is a great way to eat up the miles.
Congrats! Still waiting to find a good deal on a dual motor long range or a performance model. They seem to be literally gone in 60 seconds when the bargains pop up.

Yeah - I went new as the closest thing to a deal I saw was only 4k under new. To be fair they delivered it built to my specs in two weeks so no complaints.

I found this car @ the Porsche dealer before they even had pics. The previous owner bought a Model Y and posted it for sale privately for a week (I found the for sale post based on the VIN) and then shopped it to some dealers - the GPS showed the dealers he went to.
