Weekend Score! Good condition MaxJax lift

I snagged a maxjax off the list of craig yesterday and brought it home in the van. That is all. I just wanted to gloat.

Please do an install thread. This is relevant to me.

Awesome! I finished installing one last fall. It's been pretty helpful for some projects. Only complaint I have is constant issues getting the posts to lift evenly. 

Sweet! I love mine. Like enginenerd, my columns don't lift evenly, but the difference is minor and it doesn't seem to be dangerous and doesn't cause me any hassles. I've heard the problem is in the splitter valve that divides the hydraulic pressure between the two columns but I have not spent any time on trying to find a solution. If you have any questions ask as there are several people here with them. Working on cars is SO DIFFERENT with one of these. Alternator hard to get to from the top? Pop the car 3' in the air. Oh, forgot to disconnect something from above? drop it back down and unplug, then lift it right back up again. It's literally life changing.

So, dare we ask, what kind of deal did you get on it?!?!?!?!

I am really bad on build threads but will try to document this one. It will probably be a couple weeks before I get around to it but already have three different projects that are in need of it.

It was $1200 with the extended hose kit. It was a little dirty but not bad overall and no real evidence of wear. I have to get an anchor kit so my total will probably be just over $1300 with gas and anchors. 

The plan was to get a parts XJR but when that fell through, I noticed this and jumped on it. 

For $500 I would say "Good Deal" but when the Greg Smith baseplate lifts are only $1595 for the 9000 lb Elite, brand new, and will actually lift to a usable height, I got a lot more ehhhhhh.

Anywho, good luck, I am sure you will love it.

Let me know if you have any install questions. (Anchors, drilling, hammer drill choices, etc.) It's all very fresh in my mind. Heck if you were local I'd loan you all the stuff I bought to install it.

Yeah, but ceiling height and mobility score 2 for the Max Jax.

Freight not included, >9'6" ceiling height required, and a completely different lift. MaxJax lists at $1900 with shipping. Plus the extended hose kit which would be very handy. $1200 is a great deal. You don't get much off of these.

I am still really meh on the Maxjax.

I have exactly 9' of head space so it was this or a scissor lift which I am not a fan of.

Congratulations!  I got my used MaxJax last fall for $1100 with the Bone roll-around seat thrown in.  I would have preferred a standard two post lift.  Garage ceiling height didn't allow for one.  The location is going to require cement work and I'm waiting for the contractor to start the job. 

I love mine.  I bought the one with the autostops on it last fall. Only problem was one of the arms had a bit of manufacturing defect causing it not to slide in and out.  They sent me another arm assembly.

I actually have 13' ceilings but bought the MJ as I wanted to be able to move the right column when not in use.  I can't quite park a second vehicle in the garage with the column in the middle.  In just a few minutes, I can unbolt the column slide it over a couple of feet and convert the garage from work to park mode.

Be SURE to drill the anchor holes in the dead center of the holes.  I missed a couple of and had to enlarge a couple of the base-plate holes with a diegrinder.  Not great fun.
