Greetings sports fans! My current project car is a 1989 suzuki swift gti.
it currently has: race spec cams from 3tech- shout out to zomby wolf. header, 2.5" header back with no cat, free flowing muffler, decent intake, underbody brace, jdm yo cusco adjustable strut bars, 4 point harnesses, stripped and gutted, other things i cant recall, massive blingy 14" rims.
Over the past few months i have been accumulating many parts to improve handling, power ect. Waiting to go in i have,
semi-race recaro seat, hotbits coilovers, full ccsa approved rollcage, megasquirt, indipendant throttle bodies from a gsxr-750 cut to fit shortened manifold, bigger brake kit (crx si front brakes provide 30% bigger pad area for cheap!) other things i cant recall, exceptionally huge 14" faux 2 piece rally rims.
My friend and i painted it in the garage, and it actually turned out pretty nice. We didnt want to go the rustoleum route, so we went down to canadian tire and picked up a spray gun kit at half off and painted it with the ready to spray blue they sell. 3 coats primer, 3 coats paint, 3 coats clear. It turned out pretty well for a couple of teenagers in a garage. Total cost including gun was about $350 (canadian).

Its currently faster than a stock rx8.
Next step turbo!
massive blingy 14" rims
My 13's are jealous.
I like the knobby tires on it. I take it you don't race on a paved track?
Well truth be told that was the previous owner. It was used as a rally beast, hopefully at some point i will be able to go out and use it for autocross.
Was it one of the Suzukis sold with cages as race cars? I seem to recall they were sold in Canada for rally use that way.
high 14's are possible but hard to get. hoping for mid 13s with 7psi. I got hit by a car while driving my parts car today, so if the insurance company pays up quick i might be able to turbo by the end of the month! My parts car had a roll cage, it banged up my knees but it really kept the car safe. The underside of the car buckled but the cage held it all together.
