Wellsboro Winter Rally, Who's Going Feb. 12

This could be interesting given the 4" "gravel" and probable snow. I am a mere photographer though. I can only imagine what icy trees, sunlight and blowing snow could do to a fast car in a hairpin. Bettered only by a night stage and SPLASH!

Its about two hours from state college and I am thinking about making a trip to spectate.

much as I love rally can't say I envy you the cold - plus it's not tarmac, but any and all rally is good. pixors, or it didn't happen.

DO EET! I volunteered at the 2010 New England Forest Rally and I had a blast! Spectate, work, whatever, it's a must-do.

I wish.. I was at stpr years ago crewing for a team. I really want to go back.. REALLY REALLYY.

I am sure the owner of the Morris General Store will like the added business this will bring.

At STPR '10 I found out that the roads on Waste Management property were built specifically for hosting rallies, including the intentional use of "3s n 4s".

Will the courses be plowed if the snow is deep? Are there splashes that have turned to ice?

This is going to be fun. So far just 9 cars running snowy roads on top of a mountain in north central PA. No spectating but I'll try to get some good images of the action. Probably still time to register to participate in the inaugural Wellsboro Winter Rally.

I would love to, if I had someone to go with....and have a ridestill looking for the next wheels

I had a group of guys from PSU that were going to make the trip to spectate until I read this:

Spectating Because February 12,2011, is the first running of the Wellsboro Winter Rally, we have been asked not to open the event to spectators by the property owners. We would really like to show them that we can hold an event like this safely. Please honor their request, as the option is open for spectating in 2012 if all parties are satisfied with how the event was performed in 2011. Wristbands and credentials will be checked at the gate to the property. Finger Lakes STPR® Motorsports, LLC regrets we cannot accommodate spectators this year, but is hopeful that working with the property owners we can provide this to the public in the future. Nitro, STPR in June is a much bigger event.

Bigger event yes, but when I am at home the trip becomes 5+ hours instead of 2.

I'm not going, but as I scrolled passed I thought the title was "Westboro Winter Rally" and I wanted to see if it for or against them.

My frozen feet are asking if the snowmobilers were arrested for tresspasing.

We beat SnoDrift in at least two ways: not quite as bitter cold and more snow.

I had submitted my coolest 15 pics to Grassroots and yesterday Scott asked me to send three @ hi res! They were the 280Z, #80EVO and Tony's Pizza. The Z is cool running in a "blinding" snowstorm. I bet one of them will get published.
