The reason I ask is because Maryland has these requirements, and I quote:
A kit car consists of a body, steering system, frame, and related accessories intended for assembly with an excess or salvage engine, transmission drive line, rear suspension, rear axle and related accessories. A kit car has the outward appearance of a Historic or Street Rod vehicle (though it is not titled as such).
At least one person has tried to title a Goblin in Maryland and was told no way, because that is a dune buggy. Don't ask, because Maryland.
That lead me to the idea of dropping a modified car body over a Goblin chassis to tell the MVA the car is a Pinto or Gremlin or whatever gets chopped up and hung on the chassis. I also could have goodies like a real windshield and wipers... But I digress.
Has anyone hung a car body on a Goblin chassis? I asked over at the Goblin site as well.

Reads like you can find a body you like with a matching wheelbase and join the two.
That said, the prose reads like it was crated by idiots.
Subaru 360
Or, at least hang any body in vein of how The Challenge car was a Subaru 360
Pardon my ignorance, what is a Goblin?
That $300 Fauxari over on the Cars For Sale page.
Df Goblin
Give them what theyre used to. Add a temporary tall grill from a Ford Model T. Some fake/removable running boards and fashion up a fake/removable Model T pick up bed

Is the problem with "dune buggy, defn. 1" (open topped fiberglass body like a Manx etc typically based on a VW floor pan), or "dune buggy, defn. 2" (tube chassis sand rail)?
Can you make it into a kit car with the outward appearance of a historic kit car (which has the outward appearance of a historic street rod)?

In reply to John Welsh :
Yep. That's just a few bucks away from being 'substantially similar' in appearance to many 1926-1927 Roadster Pickup stylized street rods. Panel in the cockpit sides, add a bottomless mini pickup bed around the engine, and make a shiny faux-radiator grill. Worst case scenario, also a new hood that mates with a more proportional grill.
How about placing something like the Foose Hemisfear body over the Goblin chassis?
They already have something in the works. I have the inside scoop as I spent last weekend with the owner of DF Goblin at my Locost cruise in Mid Missouri. they are working on a new frame using a modern VW Golf drivetrain and will have a version capable of accepting a classic VW bug body.
This seems like a great place for an unloved Bradley GT body !

Cool! Kind of like a low budget version of the V8 Stealth Beetle.
