I'm really surprised nobody said Chevy yet.

I think it's safe to say that every single brand or model of car ever built has a strong/loyal following...the size of the group may be smaller for some, but you name the car and there's someone out there someplace who loves it.

I've seen some Chrysler fans who not only will not own a non-Mopar, they refuse to buy anything Chrysler built since 1990 when they discontinued RWD passenger cars.

I challenge the assumption that an online "presence" of like-minded individuals constitutes a "strong" or "loyal" following. There are many deviant or fringe behaviors expounded on the web.

I know those guys. At least I have a couple FWDs in the stable. The youngest of the RWD bunch is only 6 years older than his car.

I let my young RWD buddy take the turbo Daytona for a spin. He liked it. Doesn't really open that many more choices for him since it's only a year newer than his Dippy.

In N. America, I believe Honda is #1 followed by Ford, Toyota, and GM in that order.

It does seem that way.

Friend of my sisters, her BF's honda was stolen from work, stripped of everything useful and burned to the ground.

One of the reasons I would never own an S2000.. as much as I like them.. I would be paranoid to leave it anywhere.

And yes.. the Fiat guys are VERY open minded.. we even embraced the Yugo as a member of the fiat family

This.

Additional evidence: http://toyotavanpeople.com/ a community for those who love the Toyota VAN, and to a lesser extent, the Toyota Previa.

Jensen has the worldwide Jensen Owners' Club http://www.joc.org.uk/newjoc/ and there's the Jensen Healey Preservation Society (JHPS) http://www.jensenhealey.com/index.html of which I are a member in good (?) standing. The JOC welcomes the J-H along with the other cars they built. Most 541/CV8/Interceptor owners are generally a pretty open minded bunch but there are a few who despise the J-H. Oh well, can't have everything.

I've found that www.foureyedpride.com has a similar attitude to keeping the stangs as they were. The freak out on anything getting parted out that isn't a complete wreck.
