4 grand would get a sweet 240 wagon. I liked my 240(s) much better than either my 740 turbo or 960 sedan.

My bug only got 15 mpg mix'd driving. So it wont be hard to find something better, beside I dont drive that far, maybe 20 mile's on a bussy day.
If I were you, I'd be looking at an LS400...comfy, Toyota reliability, high-tech little V-8. I'm sure some might be trashed, but as a "high-end" car, even early ones should also have a decent selection of good examples.
With the plethora of 'what car' threads on here I looked for one closest to my needs and this one was it soooo, I'm reviving it.
My situation is thus, I want to park the X-Type due to it needing some maintenance, not having the space/time/money to maintain it and fuel costs. I leased a Nissan Sentra for the wife as a daily appliance/baby hauler. I have a 2011 Hyundai Accent that I'm trying to sell in order to lower my monthly expenditures. What I'm visualizing in my head is leaving the wife in the Sentra until the lease expires, selling Accent, parking X-Type and driving a cheap, reliable and fun beater for my 37 mile highway commute to work. Also a $4k cap, preferable either fwd or awd (due to the New England winters) and hopefully a manual - even though I might regret it with Boston traffic. Mid to high 30's fuel efficiency with decent aftermarket support. Has to have room for a baby seat so this pretty much negates the Miata/MR2 aspect as much as I'd love one of them...
My thoughts are SVT Focus, 318ti, V40 and 325es. Anything else I'm missing?
Any reason I shouldn't jump on this: http://nh.craigslist.org/cto/2928588654.html Over this: http://nh.craigslist.org/ctd/2911117265.html ?
