Last 944 8v head I had tanked, decked, and the valve seats worked over. I provided new valves that they lapped to the re worked seats. I think it was around $160 or so.

I have a ported and polished head with the cylinders CCd and matched along with the matching pistons that were trimmed to make every cylinder have exactly the same compression.

For day to day driving I prefer the sub $200 head on my 924s. If I pop a belt I am not to upset. I would be really P.O.ed if i broke a timing belt on the motor that has 4K into the head and pistons alone. That motor stays on the stand in my shop. It has kind of turned in to a piece of shop art. LOL

To be honest.... I much prefer making street heads, they are far more profitable.... and I prefer it... far easier, far less pressure....

It doesn't hurt that I feel very comfortable with the Toyota 4AG head...

I really don't have anything of value to add, other than to say it shows what a great forum this is when somebody asks "What do you pay..", and three or four folks reply, "..well, I charge X, but only when I have to do Y or Z. (insert thumbs up icon here)
