Of the fun stuff.

40ish x V8's

Of those a mix of LS and 4.6 fords for some reason are the most. One audi V8 as well.

Then V10's.

~8 x or so of those depending on how you count.

then OHV V6's

Nice try, but that wasn’t the question. That’s drivetrain configuration.

Hmm...

I-6 gas: '71 Comet 173ci, '88 E30 2.5L, '78 Spit-6 2.0L, '72 GT6 2.0L

H-4 gas: '82 Subaru 1.8L

I-4 gas: '86 Toyota 4x4 2.2L, '91 Integra 1.8L, '73 1800ES (2) 2.0L, '79 Spitfire 1.5L, '06 MCS 1.6L, '03 VW wagon 2.0L

V-6 gas: '98 A4 Avant 2.8L; '08 Grand Caravan 3.3L; '17 Grand Caravan 3.6L

V-8 gas: '74 Dodge 4x4 360, '71 Ford F100 4x4 360ci, '78 F150 4x4 351ci, '90 E150 5.0L

I-4 diesel: '03 TDI 1.9L

I-6 diesel: '95 Cummins 5.9L

V-8 diesel: '92 E350 7.3L

So it looks like I've had more inline 4's than anything else, including half of the current stable (in bold above).

I had to think about this one.  I was pretty sure that the V8s were in the majority but I was surprised at how many 4 cylinders I've owned.  I didn't count the Pinto dirt track car that I was a partner in back in the '80s or the Miata that I'm currently a partner in.  They would have bumped the four cylinder count up by two.

7 Inline 6's.  All BMW's.  I have an addiction to them.  They are consistently strong, easy to work on when you know what you are doing, and easy to find parts from wrecked ones.  All have made it well over 200,000 miles before being replaced with another daily.
