I should know what it is, but I do not.
Diesel of some sort.
Probably Ford, looking at the bellhousing.
Edit:
I see a HPOP assembly on the front of the engine. Powerstroke.
It was left behind for a reason.
It's probably a boat anchor.

They're 850 lbs so whatever that works out to. I always found it interesting that the 5.9 Cummins though was 1150 lbs.
Holy sweet Jeebus... do I see an SAE bellhousing on top?
That is worth a lot to me.
And 7.3 strokes are fantastic engines. That one might have seen better days, but they're a 350k engine. If it was a running/driving example, they'll easily bring $2000. Reman longblocks go for $4000. Complete engine/wiring/ECM can bring $3000 sometimes even with high miles.

Not sure about the SAE designation # on the powerstrokes but I have a couple of those adapters floating around the shop if you need one.
Don't need, just crave. Back in the day I went on a quest for all the SAE bellhousings I could find. They're like the ultimate in certain trans swaps on the cheap. I looked forever for a #5 or #6 for a VW because someone said it existed.
If you had a CBOP or MB SAE housing, I'd be asking for your Venmo.
