I'm thinking about supercars, but anything thats new(er) and popular by possibly the masses or car magazines that makes you go: Meh. I'll give you mine.
Bugatti Veyron: I can't see what is special about this car except it has as much power as a Saturn V rocket.
Nissan GTR: I have not liked this car since it was a concept. Nissan went from a I6 to a V6 and completely dropped the manual. I also don't care for the way it looks.
Mercedes: I'm just not that impressed. My FIL and MIL have a newer E Class and M Class, and I just don't find them that great. I think they are more of a status symbol. The new C Class is a looker IMO and it still has an optional manual trans last time I checked, but nothing else does.
Ferrari: Another company that has dropped manuals entirely, but I haven't cared for the 458.
Mustangs, Corvettes, GTRs...
I'll agree with the Veyron.
Corvettes, Camaros, Volts, Veyron, Lexus LFA,
I like the Merc SLS AMG, I wouldn't say impressed but I do like them.
I think Ferraris are just like Italian woman, expensive and only beautiful on the outside.

I'd have to agree. For the most part I view new cars, even the ones with a higher pedigree, as cookie cutter mass produced styling exercises. Designer cars. No soul, no individuality. I miss the time when cars had personality, some charisma. When you knew a car from germany would have a different feel/character than a car from Japan or US. Also I've noticed cars are getting faster but they're also getting heavier and I had a choice I'd give up ultimate power for a few hundred pounds lighter weight.
Mustangs.
Most Supercars: talk about useless in the real world.
Aston Martin: Useless Corvette Clone.
Hybrids! What few I've seen are Toyotas.
This is a list that is apt to get longer, honestly. Most people get decades of use out of a good old truck here.

Yeah, very few newer cars impress me. The Veyron does, the engineering is what gets me. What a car. Someone mentioned MB. I can't agree more. Funny thing is, I drive a 92 300D. I ONLY got it for the diesel engine. Now that I've been DD'ing it for quite some time I kinda like it. Totally uninspiring but it's a solid, nice car. Can't really say that of the newer ones though.
EVO's don't do it for me. I've driven a modded one and while it's fast I felt like I was a passenger, not that I was taking an active part in the hooning that was going on.
Anything remotely considered an everyday appliance.....
The new Camaro and new Challenger leave me cold, but the Challenger at least looks OK.
Any car that no longer offers a stick option.
Overloaded luxo barges, which leaves about 4 I do like..
I'd take the Challenger over the Camaro right now as well.
Seems like there is lots of pontificating about cars not driven, sat in or even seen in the flesh in this thread.

Lift the bonnet on a Pagani or peek inside the cockpit. Your tastes may differ, but the superb level of craftsmanship and engineering expertise is undeniable. Ditto that for the Aston One-77.
Drive a late-model Ferrari in anger; listen to the engine wail and feel the chassis rotate around you like a figure skater. See if you can keep the grin off your face.
I may not know that many exotic car owners, but the the R8 owner and all three 997 Turbo owners I know daily-drive their cars.
Sure the costs of ownership of cars like these is astronomical, but for those with deep pockets, how much less useful are cars like these than a Miata or Corvette would be for us?

The new Camaro. All Vipers. The Veyron.
The sad thing is both the Gtr and the 458 are on my bucket list. I was not to enthused by either until I got to see them in person. It realty sounds to me that you dont like flappypaddle gear box's. I got my first fast of it back when the 968 came out. I hated the ideas that I would Loos the clutch and the feeling of shifting with a stick. I was wrong.

I said the same thing until I saw them side by side. Together, the Challenger looks really lame. I wouldn't buy either.
anything 'retro'. camaro, challenger, whatever...
none of that took any talent to design. have some pride in your work.
Seen the Challenger and Camaro side by side. Gimme the Challenger any day. Of all the factory 'retro rods' I like the Mustang best.
Mercedes- I know it's indicative that there's something deeply wrong with me but I just do not see the point of the things other than to wave your gigantic financial dong as you drive. And with that I mean any of them including the SLR. I told you there was something wrong with me.
Bentleys, Land Rovers, Veyron. Same reason as the Mercedes. In fact, add that new VW CC to the list of 'what's the point?' cars.
Corvettes sound great and I like the 'made in the USA' angle but they are just too damn big. Downsize the thing about 20%, keep the same HP and suddenly my pants could get tight. As it is, meh.
Any of the hotrod SUVs like the Grand Cherokee SRT. Why? You can't tow anything with it.
anything Break My Window. I've yet to meet anyone who owns one who thinks their poop don't stink
I was about to start with Lexus, but will hold off as they are about to introduce a replacement for the SC.
Pretty much all Toyotas. They are as exciting as refrigerators...and I don't look forward to shopping/using a 'frig, either.
The GTR? My beef is mostly with the "styling". It looks like it was styled by the folks who used to build the Transformer toys, and who haven't been out of an isolated room in decades. And if you use the inline to V switch as your excuse for hating on it...why not the excuse that it was a 4 cylinder and is now so heavy it MUST be 6 cylinder powered.
M-B. At one point, just before they almost went bankrupt, the company built cars the engineers wanted to build and the customers had to take what was offered. If ever a car company proves that nowadays no VOLUME car company can exist if it ignores customers...it's M-B.
SMART. This company reached a zenith with a range of "sedans" and "sporty" roadsters...then was downsized. What bodystyle do they ditch in the downsizing? Gee, the one with the most promise. Imagine, a "city car" that's actually sporty to drive and own. HUGE opportunity blown.
Mitsubishi. Why are they in the U.S. market? All we get are some of their sedans and some of their SUVS. Mitsu, at this point is a poor man's Nissan.
Suzuki. I really want to bitty-slap the folks in charge of Suzuki in the U.S. Though the folks in charge in Japan aren't blameless, either. They have several decent cars, some of which the U.S. gets...some we don't (like the Swift) but dealerships are spotty and their website is an embarrassment. Yes, I realize it takes money to make money...but like Mitsu, either pony up and commit the money or stay away until you can.

you have obviously meeting the wrong Bimmer folk.. though, as a BMW owner, I will tell you.. 99% are shiney happy people

Easy now,yes I've shared that attitude but now I have an E30 that I like alot and I for sure don't have that better than you mentality.
Then again I've only had it for a year, maybe I'll get all cocky next year.
In reply to integraguy:
Hate to break it to you, but the Skyline GT-R has always had a Inline 6 since 1969.
One of my favorite things about the Skyline GT-R was the fact that it used an Inline 6. When the GTR moved to a V6 with a flappy paddle transmission and was surrounded with its Decepticon styling, I no longer had feelings for it like I did with the the previous Skyline GT-R.
I will agree about Mitsu and Suzuki.
I forgot the smart. The fortwo Pure (base) MSRP is $12,490. It gets 33 city/41 highway. Carries two people (duh) and some luggage. The Honda Fit carries 4, had room for their luggage, starts at $15,175 and with an automatic gets 28/35. Even though it's more expensive and doesn't get quite as good gas mileage I'd go with the Honda because of its much greater utility.
Bust My Wallets impress me more than Mercedes, they at least still have a good number of manual options and have a somewhat more sporting image.
Toyota's yawnmobiles have pretty much reached the pinnacle of appliancehood; they are nearly invisible ubiquitous transportation. The level of experience and engineering needed to accomplish that when put in the hands of the average car hating individual cannot be underestimated. So no they do not impress me from a driving 'zing' POV but otherwise yes they do. I'm not a big hybrid fan but Toyota seems to have their E36 M3 more in one sock than the other mfgs of those do.
Lexus is like Mercedes to me but thanks to Toyota they did one thing Mercedes did not: make the things last long without getting 'loose' feeling. Jump in a 150K mile LS430, then do the same in a 150K mile S420. All the miscellaneous doodads in the Lexus will work and it still feels decent. The Mercedes will have all kinds of gadgets but only 30% of them work plus it will have at least one smelly fluid leak somewhere.
For all the Bently haters I was once one as well but I got to drive a supersport. I completely understand the need for a twin turbo V12 7000 lb car now. Then press the majic bonkers mode button. It will all make cence. Trust me.
Drove one. Wasn't impressed. I guess it's because I don't see the point in a car that expensive. To me that's just a waste of $.

You guys who aren't impressed with the Veyron, you're a tough bunch. Any production (even if limited) street-legal car that comes from the factory with over 1000hp and capable of over 250mph with no drama is impressive to me.
Quote from James May:
"I'm pretty sure that's the fastest I'm ever going to go in a car"
James May proving the Veyron's claimed top speed.
Yes, they are ridiculously expensive and exclusive, but as a car, I'm still impressed.
