What should I pay for this Abarth??

The whole story was that the kid had been wanting the car for a few months. He snatched it up the second it hit the lot writing a check for the entire sum. A week later when the check bounced he returned it and told the dealer he had terminal brain cancer and only had a month to live, that's why it bounced. (He apparently got ticked when the salesman asked where to send flowers). The kid was lying, he just didn't have the money but the salesman couldn't really call his bluff.

Anyway, I agree that it probably had a less than ideal 700 break in miles. I am thinking of offering 3k below sticker plus the replacement rim and the curbed rim, in addition to two tire swaps per year.

I think that would be a fair deal. If it was a regular 500 I think the dealer would jump on it due to the amount of inventory. With the Abarths being harder to come by right now I dont know if the dealer would bite. Hopefully they do.

Around here it takes over a month for the dealer to get the title work done. I wonder if they didn't leave the paperwork sitting on the desk just in case the check was no good. Dealers hire retired guys to carry a bunch of titles down at the same time.

There are two Abarths sitting on the lot here in Louisville right now. One was ~$24k IIRC. I'd just spend the extra money and not take the risk on the 'used' one.

I bought a 500 Pop last week and am really liking it so far.

If I had terminal brain cancer and a month to live, they'd have to come find the car.
