The freeze frame shot across the GRM mat was absolutely fantastic.

Canon 60D and T2i for the people. Sound was mostly from a Rode Videomic run straight in to the 60D with the setting tweaked a bit. Some sound cptured on a Zoom H2. If we had one more free hand I'd have boom miced it. BUt with our low ceilings and the way the scenes were blocked, that would have been tough.

The on-car stuff was Go Pros and that round one that shoots 1080. I forget the name. Tom would know, since it's his. Tough little bugger. We have great footage of it flying across the floor.

Most everything was shot by me, except the slide across the logo. Tom had the T2i on a jib facing straight down and was trying to match the slide in different ways. I was just off-shot of that camera getting stuff at floor level.

Most impressive overall was Nancy. She's really talented and directable. If she was like "Oh, well, yeah, I secretly go off and do films while no one is looking. That's why it takes me so long to go to the bathroom."we'd totally believe her.

The Salad gag was fun (although I can't help but to notice the cap on the pepper now). Matt drove and Tom would catch the car and sometimes the salad when it exited the table. Although I never think we had to go back for more fresh salad. I think we did about four takes, all with slightly different reactions, but that one worked perfect. It was #2 I think.

Nobody said they wouldn't run, he said "Track's closed".

I like it in the wet.

GRM is published 8 times per year. CMS is published 6 times per year.

So really......you are getting 14 issues per year!

Awesome little RC. Who doesn't need a little RC action on a regular basis?

BTW, when I first saw this post and the vid I was hoping it would say something like: What to do when the track isn't available... find an abandoned unfinished neighborhood." Seriously, especially here in Florida, there are acres of completely empty, nicely paved networks of streets in unfinished and abandoned neighborhoods. I've found a few, but have to admit that I can't bring myself to cutting the locks on the chainlink fences out front. I'd love to see an article in GRM on how to court and convince the property management and banks that own those places now to rent/lease them for autocross, rallycross, and mini "streets of..." events, and how to get insurance for those events.

Just a thought...

I've seriously considered doing that. There's a paved subdivision here that has no houses and only one entrance - easy to police. And there are street signs up, which means the streets belong to the city now. So that's why I'd have to talk to.

For insurance, it's simple. Call K&K Insurance and say "I want to...". Any other insurance company will just do the same thing and charge you for the pleasure.
