As per the title I’ve been given a pair of MGBs. One is a 1974 and it’s strictly a parts car. The other is a 1964 and is relatively complete with solid floors but it needs a complete restoration. Both cars came with ownerships. The owner just wanted them gone. Now what? I don’t need another project but I’ve always had a soft spot for the B.

The 63 is worth some $$$. Love to see some pics. Does it have the original three bearing engine?

Pete,

I’ll take some pictures and check the engine tomorrow. I picked them up yesterday and haven’t had a chance to put either one on the hoist to assess them yet.

Christmas is coming.... wouldn’t it make you feel great to gift me the ‘63?

I used to be in the same position. A dumping ground for Jaguars. Some were rust buckets / parts cars, while some  were just in need of minor work.

Instead of trying to sell parts I used to go to races/ club meetings and offer parts free.  Occasionally I’d be offered parts in exchange but that wasn’t a requirement.

The sweet part of doing things that way is I built a real network of fellow Jaguar enthusiast so when and if they disposed of their cars/ parts I was who they thought of.
