My brother has owned Cherokees and Z3/4s for the past 15 years and would like to find something with a mix of both. I didn't want to walk on the Mazda CX-5 thread so started this thread. I've been recommending the CX-5 for a while to my sister but bro would need more performance. The CX-5 2.5 turbo sounds encouraging, anything else without spending more than for a Z or Cherokee?
BMW already did a concept for it--
I was thinking a Suzuki X90 when I saw the thread title. It's like a sports car for off roading.
Or, there's always this option.
Came here for Murano Cross Cabriolet hilarity.
Am not disappointed.

A new Grand Cherokee with the HEMI!
I have a '14 with the 8 speed and the V6 and treat it like a sports car. My right arm gets sore sometimes when I forget my wife is sitting next to me. (Slow down -whap!)
(Also the inconsistency of the use of 'Grand' in this thread bothers me.)

Only if it's been LS-swapped?
I honestly love the Murano convertible, and to a lesser extent, the Range Rover variant.
This is easy....Another Cherokee. This time in 707 HP trim.
The Trackhawk. Ok...you may have to downsize your house to afford it but it is the true mix.

The turbo in that one is sufficient.
Does Audi or Volvo offer anything?

I think the problem is that most of the stuff that qualifies is still pretty expensive. Stuff that's not expensive but some people would have concerns about reliability: Porsche Cayenne and Mazda CX7 (turbo).
