Fiancee and I are moving from NJ to Seattle next month, and we're planning to live in the city proper and go down to one car. She drives a 2005 Kia Optima that has served her well over the last 6 years or so. We're taking it over to her parents' place in MI to have them sell it, and flying back (a reverse fly and drive?)
KBB says that it's worth right around $2k, but it's a very low-rust, 110k mile car that has been regularly maintained. Probably rust-free by Michigan standards. I'm thinking list at $2900, and settle at $2600. Plus, it's tax return season. What say the internet?

Is it in NJ now? If so I'll take it. I'm in DE.
/edit/ Oh, wait, that's the older body style. I'm looking for an '06+. Sorry.
There just won't be a lot of demand for it in MI since it's a higher-mileage Kia and an older body style. You can ask $2700, but be prepared to settle for $2000-$2200.
Look on Craigslist in that part of Michigan for similar cars. There's bound to be some
What's the advantage to driving that thing all over the place before you sell it? Can't just sell it where it is?
No time for a guaranteed sale. Plus, excuse for some quick family time.
Unfortunately these are great cars that have minimal value. I've had two and have worked on thousands as a tech. I personally would throw it out there for $2600-2700 but would be happy to have it go for 2k. If I was closer I'd just come pick it up from you.
It's not a Michigan car. List it for $3000 and people will line up to buy a car that's not been out in the salt bath for twelve years.
