Facebook marketplace is pretty sparse right now. Carvana has a bunch of trash. Craigslist is a dumpster fire. Auto trader is a joke. I've resorted to asking Facebook groups of certain car mentalities for help.

Yup, you have to cast a wide net. I've only found two deals in the last 12 months, both required decent repairs, one was right here on GRM, the other was off CL.
That being said, dealer inventory is priced all over the place currently. Some dealerships are dealing with aged inventory for the first time in 2 years, generally it's $35k-55k diesel trucks, but that's also largely dependent on geographic area, and the store's pricing strategy
Autotempest.com searches Clist, farcebook, cars.com, autotrader.com, plus 1 or 2 others & has an "advanced search". I use it if I'm looking for specific models, years, etc.
Autotempest is fair, but only as good as all of the sites it searches. When they source from sketchy places like FBM, CL, and Trader, you get the same junk you would as if you searched those sites individually. Autotempest just puts all the crappy ads in one place for you.
It's not Autotemptest's fault, it's that it sources from platforms that are just terrible right now because of covid pricing and the short supply of new cars.
I'm always shopping for a car, but thank goodness I don't NEED one right now. I casually browse FBM and sometimes Ebay for kicks.
I hate paying more than about 8k for a vehicles, So I perilously browse FBM and CL several times a week. But my last few buys came from friends looking to be grown ups and buying newer vehicles and me happily buying their leftovers.
I've been scanning FB for a year now, almost bought a Celica GT-S for rallycross then she ghosted me that weekend. (The schedule ended up being not great anyway so glad I saved my $$.)
I joined a couple MR2 FB groups & see some interesting ones sometimes, one group has about 1/3 overseas listings and I feel like their's are in better shape for the $.
